Today's students are growing up in a world increasingly shaped by data. They encounter it everywhere—in school, careers, communities, media, technology, artificial intelligence, and the decisions they make every day. Preparing students for this world means helping them develop the ability to understand, question, analyze, use, and communicate with data confidently and responsibly.

Data literacy is not the responsibility of a single course, grade level, or content area. From the earliest grades through high school, students can learn to use data to explore meaningful questions, recognize patterns, evaluate claims, solve authentic problems, and make informed decisions. These experiences can strengthen learning across mathematics, science, social studies, English language arts, career and technical education, and other disciplines.
