The Assessment Anchors are one of the many tools the Pennsylvania Department of Education has developed to better align curriculum, instruction and assessment practices throughout the state.
The Assessment Anchors, as defined by the Eligible Content, are organized into cohesive blueprints, each structured with a common labeling system that can be read like an outline. This framework is organized first by Reporting Category, then by Assessment Anchor, then by Anchor Descriptor, and finally, at the greatest level of detail, by an Eligible Content statement.

Alternate Eligible Content was developed to reflect modified targets for PA Core/Academic Standards in ELA, Math, and Science and are maintained on this site for historical purposes only*. Currently, PASA DLM Essential Elements (EE) are to be utilized for instruction and assessment. EEs linkage levels in grades 3 through high school provide the modified target that is reduced depth, breadth, and complexity of content. PASA DLM’s comprehensive content, instructional resources, and professional development modules provide the tools necessary for effective instruction.
Additional information about the DLM Essential Elements is housed at PaTTAN - PASA, Pennsylvania Department of Education - Assessments, and PA Dynamic Learning Maps.
