Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Toolkit
Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Program Toolkit
The Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness (OTDA) curriculum toolkit is designed to provide secondary educators with ready-to-use information and teaching resources related to organ and tissue donation. The information provided to students will assist them in making an informed decision about organ donation.
The toolkit reflects current legislation, research, teaching strategies, and resources by:
- Providing a scientific overview of anatomical donation, its history, and scientific advancement;
- Addressing the risks, benefits, myths, and misunderstandings regarding organ and tissue donation;
- Explaining the options available to minors and adults, including the option of designating oneself as an organ and tissue donor and the option of not designating oneself as an organ and tissue donor.
