The 2026 PaTTAN Literacy Symposium: From Evidence to Action is a three-day virtual professional learning series designed to deepen educators’ understanding of literacy research and translate that knowledge into effective classroom and systems-level practice. Grounded in the Science of Reading and the Science of Learning, the symposium moves participants through a purposeful progression—from understanding why evidence-based literacy practices matter, to strengthening how reading systems and instruction are designed, and finally to making those practices stick in daily instruction.
Across the three days, participants will examine the cognitive and linguistic foundations of literacy development, analyze instructional and assessment practices through a research-aligned lens, and apply evidence-based strategies within classrooms, schools, and MTSS frameworks. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of literacy science, practical tools for instructional decision-making, and strategies to support lasting improvement in student literacy outcomes.
