Description
Plagioclase feldspars, as rock forming minerals, are common in igneous and metamorphic rocks while rare in sedimentary rocks. Labradorite is the common feldspar in dark colored, high density, mafic igneous rocks such as basalt, gabbro and anorthosite. This plagioclase mineral often displays a fine iridescent play of colors.
