Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.
This continuum of activities offers:
- Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons
- Questions/activities that grow in complexity
- Opportunities for differentiation for each student’s level of performance
Activities
- Which type of cloud is wispy, forms high in the sky, and appears shortly before a change in the weather?
- Which type of cloud is fluffy and is often seen in good weather?
- Which type of cloud forms close to Earth in flat layers and often means stormy weather?
- What does the term nimbus mean? How can it be related to other clouds?
- What do you think the sky would look like if a rainstorm were on its way?
- Airplanes fly higher than the clouds. Why do you think they do this? Draw at least 2 conclusions based on what you know about clouds.
