Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.
This continuum of activities offers:
- Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons

- Define a wetland.
- Name three types of bodies of water where you will find fresh water.
- Name two types of bodies of water where you will find salt water.
- What do you think would happen if a fish that only lived in salt water is moved to a fresh water lake? Why do you think this would happen?
- How are a lake and an ocean alike? How are they different?
- Your friend argues that fresh water is more important than salt water. Do you agree or disagree? Use at least three facts to explain your opinion.

- A wetland is land that is covered with water or has wet soil for all or part of the year.

- Fish would die because fresh water fish cannot breathe in salt water.
