Activities
- Find the missing angle measure in the diagram below.
- Find the missing angle measure in the diagram below.
- Write and solve an equation to find the missing angle measure in the diagram below.
- The diagram below shows that a windshield wiper is currently at a 45° angle. The wiper can open an additional 70°, what is the total angle amount that the windshield wiper can open?
- You are making a game spinner. You are labeling the following parts of the spinner with colors and angles as shown. The last color you need to add is yellow; fill in the missing angle measure that would complete the spinner. Explain how you found the missing angle.
- A Ferris wheel rotated 85° before it stopped. How many more degrees does it need to rotate in order to make a full rotation? Explain.
Answer Key/Rubric
- 60°
- 30°
- Missing angle measure 105°.
Acceptable equation may be similar to: 180 – (45 + 30) = x
- 115°
- The yellow section on the spinner is 115°.
Student work might include, but is not limited to:
- Add the angles in the sections that are given
- A circle is made up of 360°
- Subtract the angles that are being used in the circle from the total amount in the circle
- 90 + 90 + 65 = 245°
- 360 – 245 = 115°
- A Ferris wheel needs to rotate 275 more degrees.
Acceptable explanations may include, but are not limited to:
- A complete rotation is 360°
- Find the missing angle amount: 360 – 85 = 275
