The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

- Define position.

- Position is defined as the place where something is in relation to other things.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- That means that thing is next to me.
- That means that thing is to the right or left of me.
- Answers will be dependent on the actual position of the chair to the person.
Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- My chair is below me.
- I am on top of my chair.
- My chair is next to me.
- I am next to my chair.
- My chair is in front of me.
- My chair is behind me.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- They are both ways to state position.
- On top of means that you are over an object or the object is below you.
- Behind means the object is not in front of you.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- Greg is correct.
- If you are on top of something, that thing is also below you.
- Acceptable responses may include, but are not limited to:
- It is important to describe position so that you are able to communicate where things are.
- You might need to describe something’s position to someone, so you need to know how to do so.
- If you do not know how to describe position, you might get confused when someone else does.
- Position is important when trying to find something.
- Position is important when giving directions to places.
