Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.
This continuum of activities offers:
- Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons

Activities
Questions 1 and 2: Use the line plot about newborn baby weights to answer the following questions.
- What is the difference between the two weights in the line plot that both have two babies at that weight?
- What is the total weight of all the babies that weigh ?
Questions 3 – 5: Use the line plot below that shows students’ test scores from a quiz with 8 questions.
- How many students scored above?
- What is the difference between the student with the highest score and the student with the lowest score?
- What is the score if you add the two lowest grades in the class?
Question 6: Use the line plot below showing the amount of exercise Joe did in one week.
- What was the total amount of time Joe exercised this week? Explain how you found your answer.
