Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.
This continuum of activities offers:

Activities
- What is the sum of and
- What is the difference of and
- Your family has a loaf of bread with dinner. At the end of dinner there is of the loaf of bread left over. The next day you eat of the same loaf of bread while making a sandwich for yourself. How much of the bread is still left?
- A fruit juice recipe states that you need of a gallon of grape juice and of a gallon of apple juice to make it. How many gallons of fruit juice will you have after you mix it together?
- A survey was taken during math class about what type of pet students have at home. The dog owners make-up of the people taking the survey, cat owners were , and the rest of the class had more than one type of pet. What fraction would represent the fraction of students that have more than one type of pet? Show your work.
- The school wellness fair is divided into different sections in the school gym. A basketball area takes up of the gym, jump rope, and volleyball is of the gym. How much of the gym is being used for the wellness fair? How much more of the gym is being used for basketball than volleyball? Explain.

- Add the fraction values for all three events to find the amount of the gym being used
- Is equal to 1 whole, so the entire gym is being used.
- You have to subtract volleyball from basketball to find out how much more is being used
