Continuum of Activities
The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

- List the reasons a writer would use a comma.
- Define adjective.

- Student list the reasons why a writer uses a comma such as:
- Separate words or word groups in series of three or more items
- Separate two adjectives when the adjectives are interchangeable (coordinate)
- In sentences with two independent clauses joined by a connector such as and, or, but.
