Answer Key/Rubric
- Students should select a topic to research for a report. The topic should not be too broad. If need be, they can narrow it down before the research process begins.
- Students should name at least two specific sources they will use to collect research. Possible sources could be books, magazines, or websites.
- Students will organize their information into a graphic organizer. They should use the graphic organizer to help show the order the information will be written into the report.
- Students will write a bibliography page that lists the sources they used to collect research. They will use a given format in which the sources will be listed.
- Students will create a visual aid to accompany the report. Possible choices are a poster, power point presentation, Prezi, or slideshow. The visual aid should enhance the understanding of the topic by showing the main ideas that are presented in the report.
- Students will use the collected information to compose a report about their topic. The report should begin with an opening paragraph that introduces the topic. They should have two or three paragraphs in the body that explain/describe the main details about the topic. It should then end with a closing paragraph that brings closure to the report.
