Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons

  3. What is the most energy-efficient way to stay cool in the summer?
  1. Since we need to use energy to make the things we use everyday, one way to save energy would be to re-use things.  Identify something you can re-use to save energy, and explain how you would re-use it.
  1. Explain why energy conservation is important and identify ways you can conserve energy.

  • Students should identify an object that they use in their daily lives.  Examples include, but are not limited to: soda bottles, plastic bags, cans, packing materials, ect.
  • Students should identify at least one way they could re-use the item they chose.  Examples include, but are not limited to: using the plastic bag to pick up dog poop, using a soda bottle as a water bottle, etc.

    • Unplugging electronics when not in use
    • Unplug chargers when not in use
    • Turning off lights when not needed/when you leave a room
    • Only run dishwashers/washing machines when they are full
