STEELS Hub Update: Science and Technology & Engineering Curriculum Frameworks Now Available

Check out the Curriculum Frameworks tabs in the STEELS Hub.  Both Science and Technology & Engineering are now populated with helpful documents to assist in building a rich, standards-aligned curriculum.

Technology & Engineering instruction is defined initially by eight long term transfer goals. Standards are clustered into grade bands, and each standard is supported with big ideas, essential questions, science and engineering practices, disciplinary core Ideas, technology and engineering practices, and vocabulary. 

Science instruction is also defined in terms of long term transfer goals but offers grade-by-grade standards development kindergarten through grade 5.  Middle school and high school are broken out by subject (e.g., earth and space science) while science and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts charts display an articulation across the grades – clearly illustrating the growing complexity and sophistication.
