Description
This free, online, two-day lesson plan is based on the impacts of globalization on the environment and how different societies define and try to address environmental problems. Students read informational handouts, discuss their content, and complete a group mock debate on environmental concerns from the perspective of the United States, the European Union, or China. All handouts and instructions are provided.
This resource is aligned to the Global Competence Curriculum Framework:
- Reflect on and prioritize how a local/global topic connects to the issues of people from within that community and around the world (9-12)
- Articulate and present solutions to global problems (9-12)
- Analyze the effect of historical events and people on decision making and problem solving within contemporary culture and the global community (9-12)
