Duration
The lesson will begin and carry over throughout 2 math periods and then the students will complete a formal assessment after determining when they will be prepared.

Instructional Procedures
- The students will start the Do Now
- Shade in the equal parts and write a fraction to represent the model
- Use Fraction bars to review and model the Do Now
- Hand out lesson worksheet- do the mini-lesson on equivalent fractions
- Using fraction bars, complete the practice lesson with table
- If particular students are struggling, pull them into a mall group to work individually with them
- Mini Whiteboard practice while partnering students go up to the smart board to make the equivalent fraction
