You may use assorted stuffed animals for such stories as Five Little Ducks or The Three Bears. The class may participate by telling the number word as it comes up.

Description

The children will use stuffed monkeys to illustrate the concept in retelling a story.

After reading the story Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, have volunteers, individuals or small groups, retell the story using stuffed monkeys.
Put all five monkeys in a basket and, as the children retell the story using the book or not, they remove the monkeys from the basket until they've all jumped out of the "bed."
