Description
Hornblende is the most common mineral of the amphibole group. It is typically black in color, exhibits distinct cleavage planes, and has a hardness of 5-6. It is the primary constituent of many acidic and intermediate igneous rocks and is associated with medium grade metamorphic rocks such as amphibolites."
