Description
A set is closed under an operation if the operation on two elements of the set produces another element of the set. For example, when you add two integers (4 + 1), you get another integer (5). Therefore, we can say that "integers are closed under addition."
This page teaches students about closure and provides examples of closed sets. This Lesson is appropriate for grade level(s) 7-8.
