Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons
  • Questions/activities that grow in complexity
  • Opportunities for differentiation for each student’s level of performance

  1. Complete the drawing to show 24 chairs evenly divided into the groups below:

  1. Sophia has $40 in five-dollar bills.  Write a division expression that can be used to find how many five-dollar bills she has.

  2. Mrs. Peterson needs 32 crayons for her class.  She purchased the crayons in boxes of eight.  Write and solve an expression to represent the number of boxes she purchased.
  1. Create a situation that can be represented by 30 ÷ 6.
