Continuum of Activities

The list below represents a continuum of activities: resources categorized by Standard/Eligible Content that teachers may use to move students toward proficiency. Using LEA curriculum and available materials and resources, teachers can customize the activity statements/questions for classroom use.

This continuum of activities offers:

  • Instructional activities designed to be integrated into planned lessons
  • Questions/activities that grow in complexity
  • Opportunities for differentiation for each student’s level of performance

Activities

  1. Write a multiplication sentence that can be used to find the number of cookies below:

 

  1. The expression 2 x 6 can be used to find the total number of juice boxes Henry bought for his group trip to the zoo.  Which statement below describes the number of juice boxes Henry bought?
  1. Henry bought 2 packs of apple juice and 6 packs of fruit juice.
  2. Henry bought 2 packs with 6 juice boxes in each pack.
  3. Henry bought 2 juice boxes from one store, and 6 juice boxes from another store.
  4. Henry bought one package with 2 juice boxes and another package with 6 juice boxes.
  1. Write a multiplication sentence and draw the matching model that can be used to represent 45 blocks.
