Description
A short lesson plan in which students analyze the economic, environmental, and health impacts of a one-crop economy based on the example of the coffee industry in Honduras. Students read personal accounts from a Peace Corps volunteer dealing with this type of economy during her time in Honduras. Students learn about the complexities of improving economic conditions and the influence of external factors such as climate and culture. All materials and the lesson outline are available free online through the Peace Corps website.
