Force and Motion

Objectives

In this unit, students describe the motion of objects and the relationship between forces and changes in motion. Students will:

  • identify a push and pull as a force.

  • measure the amount of change when a force is applied.

  • determine if a force affects the motion of an object.

    Performance Assessment:

    Students are given several magazines and asked to locate eight to ten pictures that show a force (a push or a pull). Then they glue the pictures on sheets of paper and, using markers, draw arrows on each picture to indicate the direction of the force (a pull or a push). They assemble the pictures to compile a Force and Motion booklet.
